THINGS I LOVE #13

Well, let's make this one a quickie, for the sake of today's more pertinent entry:
I love reading about fashion and fashion magazines...my brother gave me an encyclopedic volume on the history of shoes. Yes, it's that bad. So yes, sometimes I need quality time with my friends VOGUE, WWD, Harper's Bazaar, the Handbook, and Michelle Obama. Mmm, here are a few of my favorite titles:
ENJOY!

Style Sightings

I lack a snarky title to accompany this week's postings. Time and my attention span leave me no choice but to leave the photos caption-less...

THINGS I LOVE#9, 10, 11, 12!

Oh no! So much to do!! 3 Articles and...I won't continue, my telling you will not be productive for either of us. THERE FORE, on with the show!

#9: Wearing childrens' clothing: yes, LOVE it! Especially in the wardrobe I've had since 6th grade. Let's just say, because of my lack of mammary gratuity and small boyish frame I've kept most of the same wardrobe pieces since 6th grade...ok maybe 5th. This makes mummy and daddy very happy. When I was in Target the other day, I saw a couple tees that sparked my interest:

And aside from wearing childrens' clothes, my feet haven't grown either :) However, I grew up and not out! Yay for being 5'7.5" (My life's goal has always been to achieve that height or higher!)

#10 Pearls. Yes, I'll admit that before I was brainwashed by greek life, I loved pearls nonetheless. Big pearls, small pearls, pearls on sweaters, barrettes and shoes and bracelets and earrings and...sometimes as necklaces! :)

#11 Mangoes, and all kinds of fruit! Yes, veggie here1 That's why it was so awesome to visit Panama with SO MUCH FRUIT and it was SO CHEAP. A pound of bananas (picked off the trees hours before) for 5 cents? Ok, retirement much? Yes. Street vendors. This place is very pedestrian friendly!

#12 Chandeliers: YUM! Hope I didn't do this one already? Anyway, working on getting one in my dorm room, in the meantime, just enjoy these:

THINGS I LOVE#6, 7 & 8

Hey peeps my immune system died for a bit. Is it still dead? Not sure. It may be partially due to the fact that I can't stand coats. Too encumbering. Let's not pander about in the past and enjoy the next three favorite things of mine:

#6: Hats. No my friends, I'm not 65 or perpetually at a derby race, but let's just say I have an affinity for hats, which makes my standing as the Southern Fashionista all that more valid. It was especially helpful when I went to Panama City, Panama last fall.

#7 Dresses with pockets: the ultimate oxymoron. Yes my friends, growing up I needed those pockets in my dresses. My shoes had to suffice as an ample replacement for those often encountered instances where I'd leave my purse with mum for safekeeping. But yes, I was a tomboy, rolling in the mud, picking up small pebbles and loose change for the non liner collection of items in a small Hello Kitty tin that held random awards and mementos that signify my childhood in some abstract way. But now, as a post-20something, dresses with pockets are the purse's biggest rival. Well, not really.

#8 Audrey Hepburn: how much do I love you? Best movie of hers is Funny face, where a young bookworm is transformed from a homely shut-in into a Richard Avendon worthy fashion icon. Bu then again Audrey was an icon in real life within her own right. Breakfast at Tiffany's is another favorite. Holly Golightly is an unassuming call girl that won't accept anything less than the best and plans to marry a Spanish dignitary who abandons her in the midst of a media circus that may damage his reputation by association. I would like to think that Audrey was the same in real life as she was on the Silver Screen. Either way, she was a fashion icon to be reckoned with, despite her relatively small film career, has withstood the test of time as a pop icon.

Hope ya love what I love!

Much love,
<3 SF
